About Ocean Wave

From the first idea to the finish line.

We are a Canary Islands company specialising in sports event organisation, consultancy and sports marketing.

We take each project from planning through delivery, with close attention to the experience of athletes, partners and spectators.

Founder Jordi González has been involved in organising sporting events since 1991, long before he established Ocean Wave in 2013.

Our story

Experience built on the course.

Jordi González’s experience began before Ocean Wave was established. That background now shapes the company’s work in the Canary Islands.

Since 1991Jordi González has been involved in organising sporting events since 1991. He was part of the organising team for Gran Canaria’s first triathlon, held on 19 May 1991 at Playa del Inglés and counting towards the Spanish Triathlon Federation’s Copa Caja Postal.
Earlier workFounder of the Gran Canaria Half Marathon, which later became the Gran Canaria Marathon.
About 1995–2000Marketing and communications adviser to Ironman Lanzarote.
From 2000Technical director of Ironman Lanzarote. At Club La Santa he organised around six or seven events a year, including the Volcano Triathlon, Ridge Run and Lanzarote Marathon.
2013Ocean Wave Sports Marketing, S. L. was founded.
Since 2016Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria.
